Trecastell (Reception Year)

Welcome to Trecastell Classroom!

The class teacher is Mrs Lowri Mai Jones and the classroom assistants are Miss Sharon Williams and Mrs Anwen Roberts. Our PPA teacher is Miss Elen Owen.

Our main aim is to ensure that each child is happy and enjoying school, we look forward to watching your child develop and thrive during the year!

Our topic for this term is ‘by our feet’. We start every theme with circle time so the children lead and direct their learning and ideas. Through this theme, we will develop the children’s linguistic skills in Welsh through various oral, reading and writing tasks. Also, develop their mathematics skills. Pupils have the opportunity to stay physically and mentally healthy by outdoor learning and developing their skills in a creative way. Furthermore, we hope to help shape independent learners that love learning by creating stimulating activities within the learning areas.
We look forward to teaching the class this year!

PE: Our P.E day is Tuesday. We kindly ask that your child brings a set of suitable clothing and footwear for the lessons (t-shirt, shorts and trainers) so we can keep them in school.

Fruit: Fruits will be available daily for the children. We kindly ask you to bring a £1 every Monday for the week. We are keen to develop serving skills with the children in our daily Café session.

Reading books: your child will receive a Welsh reading book. The books should come to school every day. We kindly ask that your child practices his / her reading at home and to discuss the story.
